DC has monuments, the Treasury and churches.

Yesterday on Metro, I was disturbed from my reading by some brain-dead high school-looking kid asking if he could sit next to me. The train was really crowded and his buddy got a seat in front of me, so next to me was a logical place to sit. I don’t know why he asked, though. Anyway, he started talking to his equally brain-dead friend. As we passed over the Potomac, and after verifying that it was actually the Potomac, this conversation was struck up.
